Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels has proposed raising the tolls and entering a long-term lease with a private company to operate the Indiana Toll Road. He says the $2.8 billion or more he hopes a private company would pay for a 50-year or longer lease is the only way to pay for many needed road projects in the state, including upgrading U.S. 31 between South Bend and Indianapolis to Interstate standards.

Opponents of the plan say we shouldn’t take 50 years or more worth of lease payments and spend them in 10 years or less. They also question the wisdom of giving over operation of state assets like the Toll Road to private companies. Some northern Indiana critics have also questioned the distribution of the revenue from such a lease, arguing more of it should stay in northern Indiana projects.
Thank You Tina!

That guy was a jerk.

I think each State should take care of thier own property. As far as leasing it to a foreign Country!!! NO!!! It is our land, we take care of it ourselves!!!! States should spend what money they do get from us and the Federal Government to take care of themselves instead of Blowing it!

Is there a length of time required to be in one province or the other or are there other factors that are used to determine which province Revenue Canada taxes a person for?

Your primary residence is the one you designate as such. It is intended to be the one in which you ordinarily live.

That determines which property will not incur capital gains taxes.

To determine where you live, for the purposes of filing taxes, it is the province in which you live on Dec 31 of the taxation year.

I want to mail my GA tax return via fedex but they only show a PO box number on the forms.
I dont like waiting in line at the Post Office.

Dont you hate answers that are really questions :-)

Why are you FedEx’ing it? It has to be postmarked by Wednesday. Your best bet is to send it to the PO Box with a Return Receipt Request. Or better yet, why not efile. :)

"How much would revenues have to grow for a small consulting firm to justify hiring an entry-level engineer? Assume that the typical annual salary for an entry-level engineer is $48,500 and benefits amount to 30% of the employee’s salary."

I know the cost to hire the employee is the salary plus the cost of the employees benefits which is $63050. What next?

Revenues, at least, would have to exceed $63,050. Managment may want to see more, to ensure that the profits remain in down times.

What is the difference between a revenue center and an expense center as it relates to a human service organization? Why would you need to know this information as an employee in a human service organization?

I’m in colllege ( accounting) and the primary difference from our point of view between " Revenue" and " Expence" is :
Revenue is defined as regular income from work performed. In your case think of it as money coming in (paid to you).
An expence is the debts you owe on a regular basis. Such as, Utilities. So think of this as money going out that is not tied to a note (loan).

Revenue = Money In (Paid To You)
Expence = Money out ( Paid From You)
