I would like to know what the legal definitions of INCOME and REVENUE that are used by Canada Revenue Agency for taxation purposes are and what legal document I can find these officially defined in.

Both are defined in the Income Tax Act, and that is the basis for CRA’s interpretations.

go to irs.com should get prompts

Why do you tax a people on taxes refunded , for the same year from the Federal Government. Why are you taxing the people by raiseing the gas price to unaffordable levels.
And don’t tell me it’s for road work…Oregonians are’nt that stupid!

Do you really think the State of Oregon is going to reply to you on here?

I have attempted to answer this question a few times and I can not seem to get it right. I am confused on if Operating profit is the same as Operating Income. The items I am given are: Sales Revenue, Interest Revenue, Gain on Sale of Land, Cost of Goods Sold, Salaries and Wages, Depreciation expense, Interest expense, and marketing and administrative expenses… Is there a basic formula for how to find operating profit given this data?

Sales revenue-cost of goods -depreciation -interest expenditure will give you operational profit. When you have been given the cost of goods figure itself, there is no need to consider the details of salaries and wages, marketing and admn.expenses, because they are built into the cost of products sold. And from the operating profit figure that you get from the above calculation, if you add interest revenue and gains on sale of land, you will have the profit before tax amount i.e the amount on which the tax will be calculated. When tax is deducted from the profit before tax amount, you get the net profit figure, which will be available for the shareholders.

Which of the following is NOT considered a bogus revenue recognition tactic?

A.Recording sales that lack economic substance as revenue
B.Recording cash received from lender as revenue
C.Recording cash received from customer in exchange for good purchased as revenue
D.Recording refunds from supplier as revenue
E.Recording investment income as revenue
i wrote the question wrong

C. I’m no economist but that one’s easy. Cash received for the purchase of goods or services is pretty much the definition of revenue.

I found that personal income in 2004 was 9,702 billion, I am just curious how much of that was taxed.

go to the irs site. They have stats for that sort of thing. Although, I’m not sure if they have data compiled for 2004 yet.

The 2003 figures I have from the IRS says that:
Total Personal Taxable income was: 4,200,198,884
Total Personal Tax Revenue at all rate levels was: 780,309,227
That equates to: 18.6%

The project is a rehabilitation centre for the aged. These facilities include activities and rejuvenation procedures for the seniors, which will extend to the disabled, juvenile delinquents and special children such as the autistic. The cash flow will show the feasibility of the project in expenses and revenue anticipated.
We expect superannuation funds management companies to be interested in the synergy aspect. Also new Federal Government incentives make the project viable for the lower end of the market, while the sales to the upper end of the market will optimise the profitability.

As many people know the current BCS Bowl games are NCG: Ohio State-LSU, Orange Bowl: Kansas-Virginia Tech, Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma-West Virginia, Sugar Bowl: Hawaii-Georgia, Rose Bowl: USC-Illinois. Personally other then the Kansas-Virginia Tech game (although I expect Kansas to win), all the games look like locks to me (LSU will crush Ohio State, Oklahoma will crush West Virginia, Georgia will crush Hawaii, and USC will crush Illinois). All these bad matchups are why the system is largely flawed, I think that, if the BCS can’t have a playoff (although I would be quite happy with one) then they should not lock the BCS winners in to certain bowls. Thus we could have (with an adjusted BCS formula) NCG: Oklahoma-LSU, Orange Bowl: USC-Georgia, Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State-Missouri, West Virginia-Hawaii, and Virginia Tech-Kansas. All these matchups will bring in more revenue to the schools, and give exciting well fought games to the fans.

The current BCS games suck. No game is going to be competitive. I like ur match ups better.

I have my last tax return filed for 2005 tax and I have got the tax statment. But, when I were looking for it, because I needed it for a purpose, I can’t find it. I live in Calgary, Canada. How can I get a copy of it? Is there a way I can get it soon in person( either downloading or getting its copy from the nearby gov’t office), instead of it being mailed to me?

What you are missing is called your notice of assessment, sounds like for the 2005 year. There is certainly a way to get it in person if you have a district taxation office near you. Just give the 18009595525 number a call and set up an appointment to pick it up. Keep in mind you are using a call centre now, used to be you could just walk in, but I know from experience things have changed. There is a way to get it online but it requires you registering for your EPass code, which has to be mailed before you can do this. Go to the main page I’ve put below, go to individuals, go to my account, log in with your EPass. All things considered it still may be the fastest way to go. Make sure that you keep a copy in a safe place with your tax return this time.
