    this is where the money or revenue is brought into a business where IT and marketing are looked at cost departments

    Sales & Operations centers are revenue centers. Sales and Operations productivity can be measured in dollars. For example. If I sold 30 products for $5, you can see that I brought in $150 gross.

    If I worked in IT, I could resolve 30 issues, but I didn’t bring in any money, so I’m a cost center. Of course, I’m still necessary, because sales can’t function if their systems are broken.
