The Test Group

11.April, 2010

The 450 students will be selected from various schools throughout the state of Texas. Students will be characterized by their ethnicity, socioeconomic status and school district where they attend school. In an effort to control for variance, each student will remain associated with those in the same social class, ethnicity and school district. By keeping each group separate and distinct from one another, the study seeks to identify and compare like individuals. The test scores will be segmented into the same portions that each group is divided. As an example, African-American students test results will be compared to Caucasian and Asian-American student test results for each distinct social class.
